FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method for recognition of a "rotating stall" fault (rotary flow breakdown) in a compressor, which is driven with the help of a three-phase motor fed with a semiconductor converter. An estimate value of torque calculated from measured output currents of a semiconductor converter and measured signal proportional to speed of rotation is compared with the rated value of torque determined from the measured signal and specified signal proportional to the speed of rotation, so that in case of their inequation a signal is generated, which demonstrates occurrence of a fault of a rotary flow breakdown.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to determine a fault of a rotary flow breakdown without sensors of pressure or receivers of oscillations.
