FIELD: foundry. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of mixing subbentonite clay with complex additive including sodium-containing salts in quantity consisting up to 2% of clay mass and metal oxides promoting dispersion and taken in quantity no less than 1% of clay mass; then rolling and shaping blanks; drying them and milling until predetermined fraction size; drying blank at temperature 20-35 C until moisture content 10-15% and density increasing by 1.6 times. Clay treated by such method features enhanced technological properties. EFFECT: significant economical effectiveness due to increased use of subbentonite clays of Russia deposits, lowered volume of purchasing foreign bentonites. 1 dwg
