FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention describes novel method of synthesis of pyrazolidones-3 used as component of developers for photomaterials. Synthesis is carried out by interaction of phenylhydrazine with alkaline metal hydroxide in alcohol medium followed by condensation with acrylic or methacrylic acid ester and simultaneous distillation off of water formed in reaction process using benzene or toluene. Method provides increase of yield of pyrazolidone-3 up to 95-98%, intensified and simplified process. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis, increased yield. 2 cl
