FIELD: recovery of liquid radioactive wastes produced when decontaminating equipment, special-purpose transport, etc. SUBSTANCE: method involves doping of mixture of alkaline and acidic liquid wastes having pH 6-8 with methane acid, or ethylene glycol, or formaldehyde, or glycerin, or their mixture in the amount of 0.02-0.5 g per 2 g of manganese whereupon manganese oxide sediment is separated and clarified liquid phase is concentrated by evaporation. In the process solutions containing permanganates of alkali metals are efficiently cleaned of alpha-radiating radioactive wastes as soon as organic chemical agents are introduced in them by compressed air and sediment volume is reduced at enhanced concentration of radionuclides.
