(earth almond, chufa) as prophylactic and curative agent used in diabetes mellitus. Agent improves the efficiency of conventional treatment being as in patients with insulin dependent and non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus as supplement to food diet. Antidiabetic effect of native tubers powder is evident in the daily dose 600 mg/kg of body mass for patient with diabetes mellitus by oral intake, 3 times per 24 h.
