STRAW SAMPLER Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: straw sampler has base with brackets welded to base lower side. Straw and chaff collectors are inserted into bracket openings. Each collector is made in the form of fabric with opposite ends attached to spools. Fabric is wound onto one of spools held under base in brackets by means of spring-loaded lever and retainer. Other spool is loosely hanging from fabric. During operation of combine, fabric is unwound by gravity of loosely hanging spool and by friction thereof against stubble and is spread behind combine. Straw and chaff are continuously discharged from thresher and laid into windrow on collector fabric. Completely unwound fabric with straw sample facilitates releasing of spool fixed in brackets and falling thereof onto stubble. Straw sample is further subjected to processing. EFFECT: increased efficiency in obtaining reliable data on grain loss and simplified construction. 2 dwg
