FIELD: organization of vortex furnace process in regulating undergrate blast in burning powdered fuel in swirling-type furnace. SUBSTANCE: method of burning fuel in vertical swirling-type furnace includes simultaneous delivery of fuel to pulverized-coal burners and secondary air to nozzles located in mouth of ash hopper; walls of nozzles are cooled with secondary air which is fed to combustion zone after cooling the walls. Volume of secondary air used for cooling the nozzle walls ranges from 10 to 90% of total amount of secondary air delivered to nozzles. Before delivery of secondary air to combustion zone, it is mixed with powdered fuel. Device proposed for realization of this method includes vertical swirling-type furnace equipped with inclined pulverized-coal burners and ash hopper in whose mouth secondary air nozzles, air ducts and air source are located; walls of nozzles are surrounded by cooling jackets and secondary air nozzles are connected with air source and fuel transport by means of air ducts. Cooling jackets are connected with secondary air source by means of air duct. Cooling jacket walls made from heat- resistant metal perform function of stiffeners. Cavities of nozzle and cooling jacket are communicated by means of holes in adjacent wall. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and increased service life. 9 cl, 1 dwg
