FIELD: heat engineering; devices regulating down-draft systems in burning pulverized solid fuel in vertical swirling-type furnaces. SUBSTANCE: proposed vertical swirling-type furnace contains inclined burners and dry-bottom ash hopper in whose mouth outlet orifices of secondary air nozzle are located; walls of secondary air nozzle widen in way of motion of air and splitter is mounted in upper part of nozzle towards secondary air flow. Splitter made in form of wedge divides upper parts of nozzle into two and more passages. Opening angle of splitter does not exceed 30 deg. Expansion angle of side walls of upper part of nozzle does not exceed 40 deg. Convergence angle of upper and lower walls of upper parts of nozzle is no less than 5 deg. Middle parts of nozzle are connected with fuel supply passage which has outlet hole to dry-bottom ash hopper. Proposed furnace reduces velocity of burning particles of fuel, thus excluding wear of frontal heating surfaces and retaining constant velocity along length of secondary air nozzle and ensuring reliable motion of pulverized fuel to combustion zone and its smooth distribution over width of furnace. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and reliability. 9 cl, 2 dwg
