FIELD: marine power plants. SUBSTANCE: proposed power plant includes at least one shaft running from transom. Proposed power plant includes propeller shaft intersecting water surface and mounted on said shaft near rear edge of ship's hull. During operation of ship, propeller works in plane formed behind ship's transom. Power plant is provided with drive units for setting in motion at least one shaft. Propeller has hub and large number of blades which are practically equidistant in angular direction; ratio of space between blades to their chord is no less than 2.0 actually over entire length of blades. End profile of ship's hull has at least one bow-shaped projection corresponding to profile of propeller hub or each propeller. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 25 cl, 28 dwg
