FEEDER FOR LOOSE AND LUMPY COMPONENTS OF GLASS CHARGE Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: proportioning of small additives; glass industry; preparation of charge for glass making. SUBSTANCE: fitted on one shaft of proposed feeder are hollow belt screw worm and spiral worm of smaller diameter. Hollow belt worm is used for homogenizing of material and feeding it to outlet branch pipe inside which spiral worm of smaller diameter is located. Material trap made in form of hyperbolic spiral is mounted at section where spiral worm enters outlet branch pipe. Starting section of said trap embraces spiral worm in its lower portion, thus excluding pouring of material through its turns. Final branch of trap is limited at the top by inner diameter of hollow belt worm. Proposed feeder ensures stable delivery of material to outlet branch pipe and breaking of lumps; formation of voids is excluded due to coaxial position of belt and spiral worms. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of proportioning of small additives. 2 dwg
