FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: zinc concentrate is fed into reactor containing ferric iron and jarosite seeds and subjected to sulfuric acid leaching at atmospheric pressure and temperature from 80 C to boiling temperature of solution, concentration of sulfuric acid being maintained within a range of 10 to 40 g/l. Zinc concentrate is dissolved and iron is precipitated in the form of jarosite. EFFECT: increased degree of recovery of zinc and simplified process.
