FIELD: metallurgy, electroslag metallurgy, winning of especially pure metals and manufacture of articles from them. SUBSTANCE: technology includes transmission of electric current through heterpolar electrodes partially put into current-conducting melted slag located in furnace with metal cooled walls with slag lining, translational submersion of refined metal into melted slag as metal sweats, crystallization of metal and formation of ingot in water-cooled mould. Glass is utilized in the capacity of slag. Metal is coated with glass to form protective film prior to start of submersion into melted slag. Drop sweating of metal is carried out without any direct electric contact of heterpolar electrodes with melted metal with the aid of electric contact with it through layer of melted slag. Electrodes are produced from glass carbon. EFFECT: expanded functional potential of electroslag technology which enhances uniformity of desired ingots of refined metal. 3 cl, 1 dwg
