FIELD: mechanical engineering; spring nuts for detachable joints of parts working under heavy-duty conditions at continuous vibration. SUBSTANCE: proposed spring nut has body with internal thread and spots for wrench. Body is made in form of cylindrical spring made from wire. Wire has rectangular or another section; direction of winding is opposite relative to direction of thread; ends of turns are bent at angle of 30-60 deg. Each butt of nut has toothed rim. Spots for wrench are made in form of guide projections at ends of nut. Proposed nut may work under heavy-duty conditions without unscrewing. Method of manufacture of spring nuts includes preparation of blanks, heating these blanks, winding them on threaded mandrels, forming thread and heat treatment; simultaneously with forming the thread, members for wrench or other tools are made; hardening of spring nuts is performed when they are placed on threaded mandrels, after which spring nuts are removed from mandrels and are subjected to tempering, blanks are wound on threaded mandrels and are hardened in molding mechanisms either autonomous or located symmetrically on rotor. Prior to hardening, spring nut may be subjected to cubic strain. EFFECT: reduced labor consumption; automation of separate procedures or process as a whole. 5 cl, 7 dwg
