APPARATUS FOR CONNECTING TUYERE TO COLLECTOR (VERSION) Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has device for forming hermetically sealed joint between surfaces of collector and tuyere to be connected. Force needed for forming hermetically sealed joint is dynamically created by means of cooling or blasting medium passed through collector and tuyere. Cooling and/or blasting medium acts through pressure surface upon joint between collector and tuyere. Pressure surface is part of surface of piston, which imparts pressure to joint. Tuyere has first connection surface and collector has second connection surface. One of said surfaces is part of piston surface. Apparatus of such construction provides for dynamic compensation of abrupt cooling liquid pressure variations, hermetic connection under extreme conditions in case of high pressure of cooling liquid and keeping reliable extent of statically created minimal needed pressurization value.
