FIELD: shaping nanosecond and picosecond high-voltage pulses. SUBSTANCE: device designed to shape pulses of amplitude higher than 1 MV (for instance, up to 5 MV) has series-connected microsecond pulse voltage source and shaping unit built of coaxial lines whose central conductors are separated by gaps functioning as spark gaps for sharpening leading edge of pulses being shaped. Insulating liquid filling coaxial lines and spark gaps is mixture of high-molecular perfluorocarbons. Output unit of microsecond high-voltage pulse source connected to first coaxial line is made in the form of Tesla transformer. Optical conductor passed through this transformer and also through central conductor of first coaxial line in longitudinal axial direction functions to feed respective spark gap with synchronizing light beam from external laser that sets initial breakdown moment for particular spark gap. Optical conductor runs inside channel which is end part of delivery branch pipe in system designed for pumping and cleaning insulating liquid filling particular spark gap that also functions for supply of clean insulating liquid in axial direction and for sideways discharge of dirty liquid. EFFECT: enlarged amplitude of shaped pulses at steady shaping of their leading edges. 1 dwg
