FIELD: conditional access systems. SUBSTANCE: receiver/decoder is programmed to receive current entitlement management message (EMM) provided it has received at least one preceding EMM of preceding calendar period. Upon its reception it is used for entitlement check in receiver/decoder. Proposed method makes it impossible for earlier subscriber to be dishonestly entitled by disconnecting decoder before EMM can update decoder memory to prevent decoding followed by re-connecting decoder so that it is confused with newly entitled subscriber.
