FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves providing initial steel quenching at temperature of 1,070-1,080 C with following intermediate tempering at temperature of 400-420 C for 1 hour and final multiple tempering at temperature of 520-540 C, in particular, triple tempering for 1 hour each tempering cycle. Method is used for processing of high-chromium steel for manufacture of tools and parts of machines.
