FIELD: experimental determination of surface tension of solid body. SUBSTANCE: operation of facility is based on formula determining dependence of natural frequencies of transverse vibrations of thin rods with ends resting against joints on surface tension. Facility makes it feasible to measure natural frequencies of transverse vibrations of two thin rods differing in length in their two various vertical positions. Lengths of thin rods should be less than critical values of length of these rods according to Euler. Surface tension of specimen is calculated by measured values of frequencies. Facility makes it possible to expand temperature interval of measurement of surface tension and to simplify procedure of conducting of experiment with preservation of accuracy and reliability achieved traditionally in experiments. EFFECT: expanded temperature interval of measurement of surface tension and simplified measurement procedure. 1 dwg
