FIELD: measuring equipment. SUBSTANCE: indicator for measurement of linear dimensions has casing 1, measuring rod 12 kinematically linked with pointer 11, scale, mechanism for fixing the maximum displacement of the measuring rod. The fixing mechanism is made in the form of gear ring 6 similar to a ratchet, whose teeth have a pitch equal to one scale division, and with which the indicator pointer is engageable. Gear ring 6 is installed for axial movement for its disengagement from the indicator pointer and reset of the pointer, it is spring-loaded in the direction of the axial movement for provision of a tight engagement with the indicator pointer in the process of measurements.
