FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus is designed for forming bottom in carton provided with bottom parts raised for protecting carton-base edges from damage and moisture absorption. Apparatus for forming raised portions in carton bottom has mandrel head comprising casing with contact surface, first edge and opposite second edge. Contact surface has first depression extending from first edge to second edge of contact surface, and inclined edge extending along portion of first edge. Contact surface is equipped with sealing plate engageable with mandrel head and having pressing surface, first edge and opposite second edge. Pressing surface has first raised part comprising continuous transverse portion and continuous outer part, which are arranged in substantially coplanar relationship. Transverse part is extending from first edge to second edge and outer part is extending perpendicular to transverse part along portion of first edge. First raised part and pressing surface are arranged in different parallel planes. EFFECT: increased efficiency and provision for forming carton with raised edges of paper-base without affecting carton itself. 20 cl, 17 dwg
