FIELD: materials handling and packing. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has support for holding sealing rib, jib consisting of column-shaped part and arch part, and device for pressing sealing rib to support by means of jib top to transmit ultrasonic vibrations to sealing rib. Ultrasonic vibrations are transmitted to packing material through jib to provided melting and connecting of each pair of opposite layers of material used in sealing. Ultrasonic vibration absorbing device is placed between top of jib and edge part of sealing rib. When ultrasonic vibrations are transmitted from jib to sealing rib, the latter starts vibrating. But owing to the fact that ultrasonic vibrations are absorbed by ultrasonic vibration absorbing device, these vibrations are not transmitted to edge part of sealing rib. Consequently, provision is made for prevention of dust formation on end of paper backing which is open outside at edge part sealing rib. EFFECT: enhanced sealing of packing containers. 4 cl, 5 dwg
