FIELD: electronic meteorological equipment of aircraft. SUBSTANCE: airborne thunderstorm direction and range finder makes it possible to detect four stages of deterioration of thunderstorm situation and to form signals which lead to corresponding changes of images on screen of indicator increasing indicator informativity and instructiveness. This approach makes it easier for pilot to select most economical and safe route of flight under conditions of deteriorating thunderstorm situation, to reserve right of selection of route with due account of other attendant factors accompanying flight. This is achieved by insertion of device detecting formation of induced turbulent- thunderstorm and thunderstorm zones and thunderheads into airborne thunderstorm direction and range finder. EFFECT: increased informativity of airborne thunderstorm direction and range finder. 5 dwg
