SUBSTANCE: method includes reduction of ionic conduction between cathode and anode, opening of battery case, and reconditioning of battery components. Ionic conduction is reduced by removing electrolyte solution with aid of safety ventilation, cooling battery down to freezing point of electrolyte solution or below glass-transition temperature of curing polymer of solid polymeric electrolyte.
