FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, feed production. SUBSTANCE: root grinder has bed and cylindrical casing with charging throat. Piston is located inside casing for displacement along screw shaft. Casing is filled with roots. Piston is urged by drive and screw shaft to move roots toward movable cutter-type wall. Drive provides rotation of cam drive shaft. Cutter-type wall is actuated by cam and tension springs to reciprocate in vertical plane along bed guides for grinding roots. EFFECT: increased efficiency and provision for minimal damage to root structure and juice release. 5 dwg
