FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, horticulture. SUBSTANCE: hand-held tool has blade made in the form of regular cylinder provided with open side surface. Cylinder has width of gap within the range of 55-65 mm and wall thickness of at least 0.5 mm. Lower part of cylinder has cutting edge and height of cylinder is equal to outer diameter of cylinder. Holder levers are pivotally connected to one another to form X-shaped junction. Length of lever arms from pivot joint to attachment point is 80-85 mm. Plates for supporting operator's feet are positioned at lower part of levers, which are arranged above pivot joint. Foot supports are provided with retainer receiving openings. Such construction allows plants to be effectively extracted from ground for further transplanting. EFFECT: increased efficiency, reduced labor intensity and reduced damage to seedling root system. 1 dwg
