FIELD: individual means protecting against firearms and cold steel. SUBSTANCE: objective of invention lies in increased reliability of protective properties of armor jacket thanks to improved arrangement of plates along vertical and horizontal planes, upgraded service characteristics due to possibility of replacement of armor plates with new plates, improved ergonomics of individual protection owing to raised degree of freedom of motion in process of wear, enhanced hygienic indices thanks to use of separable bags. Proposed armor jacket has separable shoulder strap 27 linked to back section 1 with protruding side parts 4 and breast section 2 including apron 3 and attachment aids 5, 6, 7, 8, 11. Flexible armor metal protection 9 is positioned in every element of armor jacket. Flexible armor protection comes in the form of interchangeable armor plates, convex along long or short sides. Each plate is placed into bag with vertical overlapping of at least half of horizontal length of armor plate with subsequent positioning in pockets to ensure horizontal overlapping of plates by 5 mm as minimum. Armor plates are laid off central axis with horizontal overlapping, each next armor plate being placed under preceding plate.
