FIELD: forestry. SUBSTANCE: method involves reprocessing round timber having heart- shaped decaying core by fixing timber; dividing timber in longitudinal direction into parts with bare decayed portion in sawing plane; processing produced parts and simultaneously removing bark and decayed portion. After dividing, boards are obtained. Bark and decayed portion are removed by means of impact-type working tools, which are arranged at sawing plane side and at side of board unbarked surface. Method allows material admissible for transportation and reprocessing into chips to be produced from low-quality round unbarked timber with central internal decayed portion. EFFECT: increased efficiency of reprocessing round timber with decayed central portion. 2 dwg
