SPACE STATION MAINLY PLACED IN GEOSTATIONARY ORBIT Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2202499 C1

FIELD: satellite information systems; telecommunication space systems; space engineering. SUBSTANCE: space station mainly placed in geostationary orbit includes basic modules provided with power supply systems, motion control systems and navigation systems, engine plants, receiving and transmitting equipment, energy flux conversion and distribution units; all together they form space complex. Proposed space station is additionally provided with section rod having power supply, control information and video information interfaces oriented in parallel with Earth axis; provision is also made for devices used for locking-on target satellites and placing them on sectional rod. Target satellites of three-axis orientation are provided with approach unit; basic modules are provided with motion control and navigation systems. Target satellites are provided with their own motion control and navigation systems; axes of rotation of solar batteries of basic modules and target satellites are parallel to Earth axis. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency; increased maintainability. 7 dwg
