FIELD: space engineering; flexible solar batteries, mainly on base of amorphous silicon formed by centrifugal forces. SUBSTANCE: proposed battery is mainly designed for heavy communication satellites in geostationary orbit and space platforms for remote earth sounding. Solar battery has flexible base with photoelectric transducer modules mounted on it; provision is made for bends of base where battery is placed for transportation position. Drum for winding folded solar battery is provided with rotating units. Flexible base is made as separate sectors forming circular flat surface in developed position which is perpendicular to axis of rotation of drum. Bends of film are made over fins which are parallel to central radial generatrix of each sector. Sectors are folded as bellows smoothly secured and wound on drum. Drum may be mounted directly on spacecraft or on extended structure connected with spacecraft. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency; facilitated procedure of shifting battery from transportation position to operating position. 6 cl, 8 dwg
