FIELD: low-gas pyrotechnic compositions used for retarding units of small-sized explosive devices working under conditions of kinetic heating. SUBSTANCE: proposed low-gas pyrotechnic composition includes polymer of vinylidene fluoride, combustible matter zirconium carbide, oxidizers-lead chromate, potassium perchlorate, inhibitor-cryolite and binder-copolymer of terafluoroethylene with vinylidene fluoride. Proposed method makes it possible for obtain heat-resistant slow-burning composition at rate of burning of 0.6-0.7 mm/s and stable operation at temperature ±60°C. EFFECT: enhanced friability. 1 tbl
