FIELD: pyrotechnics. SUBSTANCE: invention provides a low-gas pyrotechnical retarding composition appropriate to reliably provide required retardation time during carrying out of blasting operations in mineral resource and coal-mining industries. Composition that can be used to equip obturated and non-obturated retardation units of electrical detonators and nonelectric initiation systems contains (i) oxidant: lead chromate and additional oxidant (lead(II) oxide) and (ii): fuel material: modified tetrafluoroethylene/polyvinylidene fluoride copolymer (F-2M), and (iii) combustible binder: tetrafluoroethylene/vinylidene difluoride copolymer (F-42L). EFFECT: improved low-rate burning steadiness.
