FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves mobilizing esophagus and trachea in single block. The opposite esophagus wall is longitudinally cut at fistula level. Esophagus mucosa is circularly excised through its lumen. Esophageal mucous membrane and trachea wall defects are sutured from esophagus lumen. Then, the longitudinal opposite esophagus wall cut is sutured. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in eliminating pathological communication between esophagus and trachea accompanied with cicatricial inflammatory process.
