KNEE MODULE Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2202995 C2

FIELD: medicine, in particular, orthopedics. SUBSTANCE: knee module has two forks with connecting assembling members, and knee pin immovably fixed in upper fork. Split yoke, which embraces pin, is connected through two axes of rotation to lower fork. Axes of rotation are arranged one above another at one side of knee pin. Lower part of split yoke is extending backward in horizontal plane and is provided with stop, which restricts repeated unbending of yoke. Lower part of split yoke is connected by means of adjusting screw to lower fork through shock-absorbing pads. Gap between knee pin and split yoke is reduced by tightening of adjusting screw until knee module is completely fixed. Such construction provides for controllable continuous retaining of module at rest phase and guaranteed timely disconnection of module upon completing of rest phase or in case of relieving load regardless of parts wearing. Module may be used in lower limb prosthesis. EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation, provision for damping impact loads at the beginning and at the end of rest phase during walking. 1 dwg
