FIELD: processes and equipment for continuous casting of metals. SUBSTANCE: mold includes two cooled wide lateral walls arranged one opposite to another in the form of supporting frames having plates consisting, mainly of copper. Narrow cooled lateral walls are arranged with possibility of motion one relative to another and with possibility of clamping them between said wide lateral walls. Powered units for clamping narrow walls are mounted between wide lateral walls with possibility of controlling their clamping effort and(or) motion path. Wide lateral walls carrying copper plates and narrow lateral walls of mold are arranged inside stable-contour outer frame. The last is designed for receiving efforts acting upon walls of mold and forms closed power system. Wide lateral walls carrying copper plates are centered in the middle inside said outer frame.
