FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: friction disk has frictional plates made of composite material. Friction surfaces of frictional plates have slots usually disposed within working thickness of plate. Plates are locked in position on metal frame provided with alternating holes and depressions over its outline. Slots are disposed in plates in vicinity of frame depressions. Frame and plates residing in vicinity of its depressions are light in weight. EFFECT: reduced failure probability of disk at centrifugal loads, enhanced angular velocities. 1 dwg
