FIELD: armament, applicable in automatic weapon. SUBSTANCE: the automatic weapon has at least one barrel, movable breechblock, the whole barrel or only its breech end are made movable. Provision is made for an additional inertia body mounted for engagement with the breechblock and for movement relative to it. The breechblock is made for stopping or slowing down of movement relative to the fixed parts of the weapon after it withdraws from its extreme front position at a certain distance. In another modification the breechblock is made fixed, and the barrel is made for movement forward, the inertia body is mounted for travel in the direction of barrel movement and with possibility of accelerated movement relative to the barrel from the instant of shot beginning.
