FIELD: study of burning processes in weightlessness. SUBSTANCE: task of this technical approach lies in provision of fire safety under conditions of zero gravity during space flight and in examination of rate of burning of organic and synthetic materials used on space stations. Device analyzing process of combustion of materials in weightlessness has combustion chamber, igniter, specimens arranged in parallel to longitudinal axis of combustion chamber, mechanism replacing specimens with two drums, specimen holders, turning handles, flow former and heat exchanger. Mechanism replacing specimens is inserted with input and output mutually perpendicular shafts. Input shaft is positioned perpendicular to side wall of combustion chamber and output shaft is placed in parallel to longitudinal axis of combustion chamber. Turning handle is located on one end of input shaft on outside of side wall of combustion chamber. The other end of shaft carries lever installed inside combustion chamber perpendicular to shaft and connected to slider mounted for movement along lateral axis of combustion chamber. Ratchet-and-pawl gear is fitted with lock of position and angle of turn of specimens arranged inside combustion chamber in parallel to its longitudinal axis. Flow former is placed along longitudinal axis of combustion chamber. EFFECT: device ensures laminarity of motion of flow in zone of burning of examined specimen and mechanical installation of new specimen in zone of burning. 4 dwg
