FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: polyfluorinated ethers of general formula ROOCF2CF2H, in which R is methyl or radical HCF2CF2CH2-, are prepared via catalytic reaction of an aliphatic alcohol with tetrafluoroethylene, which is carried out at 50-110 C and pressure 9-16 kg/sq.cm in presence of water in amount 30-40% of the weight of catalyst, in particular sodium hydroxide employed in amounts 1.2- 2.0% of the weight of alcohol. When tetrafluoroethyl tetrafluoropropyl ether HCF2CF2OCH2CF2CF2H is to be obtained, process is carried out in presence of 2 to 10 wt % methanol. EFFECT: increased yield of desired product and reduced consumption of catalyst.
