FIELD: polymer materials. SUBSTANCE: invention provides powder clarifier constituted by sorbitol-xylitolacetal compounds for clarifying semicrystalline polyolefin resin and composition based thereon. Composition is prepared by mixing indicated clarifier with polyolefin resin at heating to temperature superior to melting temperature of resin and being at least 170 C, and continuing stirring until clarifier is completely dissolved in resin.
