FIELD: aviation; devices protecting flying vehicle engines against penetration of foreign matter. SUBSTANCE: on-board protective device includes movable lower panel mounted in air intake body. Said panel may perform translational motion in horizontal direction. Panel is made from load-bearing U-shaped primary structure with two panels articulated on external longitudinal tubes; panels may perform alternate oscillatory motion from level of edge of air intake downward at angle of α = 30 to 60 deg. and oscillation period T = 1.0 to 3.0 s; they are located at distance c = 0.005 to 0.01 m from its leading edge. Length llow of panels and height B of midsection of air intake are made in the following relationship: = 0.3 to 1.2; width blow of panels and width L of midsection of air intake are made in the following relationship: = 0.3 to 0.5. EFFECT: reduced probability of sucking vortex core inside air intake together with foreign matter. 3 dwg
