WATER-COOLING TOWER Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: cooling of circulating water at power plants and factories. SUBSTANCE: water- cooling tower includes tower with air inlet windows located above pond meant for collection of cooled water, water- distributing facility with sprinklers installed in stages in space of water-cooling tower. Sprinklers come in the form of multiatomizer heads with screw centrifugal atomizers. Watercooling tower is closed on top by cover through which exhaust column in the form of hollow cylinder with upper and lower butts faces. Walls of column are perforated in part placed in working zone of water-cooling tower. Perforation degree grows over height of exhaust column. Grate on which Rashig rings are poured is positioned inside exhaust column, above its perforation zone. Lower face of exhaust column is fitted with cover that has hole for drainage of condensed moisture into pond meant for collection of cooled water. Upper face of exhaust column is closed with cover having shape of contractions on which water jet-type pumps with mixing chambers are installed. Top of water-cooling tower is equipped with accumulating tanks into which used ejector water is fed from mixing chambers of water jet-type pumps. Accumulating tanks are provided with pipe-lines brought into space of water-cooling tower and situated above air inlet windows. Distribution pipes with sprinklers in the form of multiatomizer heads with screw centrifugal atomizers are placed on pipe-lines. Suction fan is mounted in exhaust column above Rashig rings. EFFECT: intensified heat exchange which results in enlarged temperature range of water cooling and in diminished drop entrainment of water to atmosphere. 2 cl, 1 dwg
