FIELD: instrumentation, nondestructive inspection of electrophysical parameters of materials and articles. SUBSTANCE: technical result of invention lies in increased accuracy and resolving power of conversion by provision of constancy of area of inspection zone, in exclusion of effects of roughness of inspected surface, edge effect and outside noises on output signal of electromagnetic converter. Converter includes ferrite core which working part is coated with wear-resistant material, measurement, excitation and compensation coils, the latter being placed differentially to measurement coil. Measurement coil is positioned near surface of object of inspection and excitation coil is located between measurement and compensation coils. Structure is placed coaxially into cylindrical ferrite case open on side of inspection of object and possessing hole for travel of core in opposite face. Space of case is potted in compound so that core can move inside coils without any misalignment. Face part of cylindrical ferrite case facing object of inspection is fitted over edges with brush made of ferromagnetic wire, opposite face of case is provided with springy or elastic membrane rest ensuring pressing of working part of ferrite core against surface of article. Working part of ferrite core comes in the form of truncated cone with preset dimensions or hemisphere. EFFECT: increased accuracy and resolving power of converter. 4 cl, 4 dwg
