FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of protection of vehicles from unauthorized use with simultaneous control of ignition system. Enquiry signals with information pulses are generated in ignition switch and transponder is irradiated by said signals, answer signals with identification code of vehicle user are received and compared with code kept in storage and, if codes coincide, interlock is released, ignition system and service functional members are activated. Flat transponder card with digital storage for recording and reading information massages is used as ignition key. Ignition switch is made in form of printed circuit board with electronic components. Board carriers guide holder by means of which step-by-step movement of card parallel to surface of board to limit position corresponding to engine starting is provided. After starting the engine, card is moved in reverse direction and is taken out of holder. If necessary, information of vehicle owner and condition of vehicle is entered in card memory to be read out at check points. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities of vehicle protection system. 3 dwg
