FIELD: microbiological industry, biotechnology, insecticides. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of bacterial insecticides designated for control of coleopterus insects, among them, Colorado potato beetle. The highly toxic oligosporogenic strain Bacillus thuringiensis H8 VKPM B-8057 is obtained based on the strain Bacillus thuringiensis H8 that is toxic for coleopterus insects and isolated from natural sources by multi-stage selection and other research methods. The strain forms tetragonal and rectangular endotoxin crystals. The strain is designated for preparing insecticide preparation against coleopterus insects. The strain B. thuringiensis H8 VKPM B-8057 exhibits the following economical and ecological advantages as compared with the analogue-strain Bacillus thuringiensis H8 VKPM B-6306: enhanced level of toxin formation (by 1.5-fold as compared with the analogue-strain) and less spores amount (by 9-times less as compared with the analogue-strain). The use of this strain prevents pollution of environment in total usage of insecticide preparation based on the proposed strain.
