FIELD: metallurgy of rare and platinum metals. SUBSTANCE: method involves initially roasting catalyst at temperature of 300-450 C for 2-3 hours resulting in more complete transition of metals into solution; providing sulfide settling of platinum and rhenium with thioacetamide resulting in increased extent of metal extraction. Besides, commercial crystalline aluminum trifluoride is produced, which is separated from fluoroaluminic acid by neutralizing it with aluminum hydroxide. Method is used at enterprises engaged in reprocessing of deactivated catalysts of chemical and petrochemical production. EFFECT: increased extent of extracting precious metals into composite concentrate and simplified separation and affinage stages. 2 cl, 2 ex
