FIELD: geophysics; search for mineral deposits on area under investigation. SUBSTANCE: resonance-tuned spectrum of standard element or compound corresponding to sought deposit is found by its heat treatment and determination of linear light-absorbing spectrum. Photo negative is placed in energy radiation field at spectrum frequency corresponding to frequency of resonance-tuned spectrum of element or compound. Photo negative is irradiated with light pulses in nanosecond range at the same time producing additional photo. The latter is scanned with electromagnetic radiation within resonance-tuned spectrum range of standard element or compound. Outlines of detected anomalies are determined by analog-to-digital conversion. Spatial structure of sought deposit is predicted by superimposing outlines obtained onto those of anomalies found in decoding photos and in geological and structural modeling.
