FIELD: polymer materials. SUBSTANCE: strength of polypropylene when being melted is improved by mixing polymer with at least one peroxydicarbonate and interaction of the two mixture components at 150 to 300 C on condition that peroxydicarbonate is present in the form of aqueous dispersion in polar milieu and at least 90% of initiator particles are below 50 mcm in size, while the size of at least 90% of the latter is less than 65 mcm. EFFECT: increased strength of melting polymer giving rise to modified polymer melt suitable for preparing desired product. 12 cl, 2 tbl, 7 ex
