FIELD: extraction of substances by electric extraction methods; ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in selective extraction of nickel from solutions containing manganese; proposed method includes electric extraction of metallic nickel from sulfate and chloride sulfate solutions at precipitation of metallic nickel on nickel cathode and precipitation of manganese in anode sludge formed on lead anode. Proposed method is characterized by high degree of purification of nickel from manganese, good quality of cathode nickel surface and waste-free technology in utilization of anode sludge. Proposed method excludes necessity of organization of special purification stages, thus reducing number of attending personnel. EFFECT: enhanced ecological safety. 5 tbl
