FIELD: extraction of metals from liquids. SUBSTANCE: method involves using organic sorbent - mixture of oligomer products of reaction of formaldehyde, hydrogen sulfide or salts or compounds thereof comprising primary or secondary amine groups. Method may be used for extracting silver, gold, platinum and platinoids from industrial used affinage solutions, as well as for extracting heavy metals from industrial sewage water. EFFECT: increased selectivity in extracting ions of precious metals, which are available in solution together with cations of other metals, increased sorbing capacity of solid sorbent with regard to metals of platinum group, and increased sorption rate.
