FIELD: civil engineering, retaining wall to guard recesses, embankments, natural slopes and spoil banks. SUBSTANCE: facing of retaining wall is made of flat rigid plates arranged in rows which rear sides are fitted with units for attachment of reinforcing members. Plates are interjoined in plane of facing. With this in mind butts of plates have vertical holes to place vertical bar protrusions. Specific feature of invention lies in giving triangular form to plates of lower row and rhomboid shape to plates of above-lying rows. Unit for attachment of reinforcing members comes in the form of used tires encased in body of plate in concrete and forming hinges arranged in rhomboid plates one above another at distance of 0.25 length of vertical diagonal of plate from corresponding upper and lower corners of plate. They have form of same hinge in triangular plates. EFFECT: reduced labor input to mounting in absence of complex mounting members for erection of retaining wall, provision of required strength of plate with less consumption of materials. 1 cl, 4 dwg
